The Dual Battle: Athletes' Physical and Mental Health Concerns

Fighting on Two Fronts

Imagine you're running down the field, your body at its limit, and your mind racing just as fast. That's the daily reality for many student-athletes who juggle both the physical demands of their sport and the mental pressure that tags along. Coaches and athletes often find it hard to cope with mental health concerns because the stigma around it is really tough. Heavy Burden to Carry

They're often battling eating disorders, immense pressure to perform, and the fear of letting down their team, their family, and themselves. For college students, these challenges are compounded by academic demands and the big life changes that come with being on your own for the first time. It's a heavy load to carry on young shoulders.
